Plastic film, supply and demand - market situation
The plastic film industry currently runs through a very tough period of increasing demand and a limited availability of raw materials. We have taken several measures to ensure a certain continuity of provisioning. Unfortunately, we reach to the limits of the feasibility again and again. The partially oversized demands remains our major concern. In addition to the aforementioned supply difficulties we still have to struggle with rising cost of raw materials (see picture) and unfavourable exchange rates. Despite great efforts in reducing costs of the production and logistic, we are not able to cover these increases total. A reversal in commodity prices and production capacity is not expected. Successful expansion of the product range: optimont – flexo mounting film
Due to the increasing need of mounting films for flexo printing, Bleher – Folientechnik extends the product range by so called thick films.Since the middle of 2009, we produce large quantities of optimont – flexo mounting film with increasing popularity in short rolls. The already available film types have been added, so that now 250, 300 and 350 microns mounting film would be offered. Delivered on 76 mm cores in widths up to 1800 mm. Bleher- Folientechnik takes over Spaulding S.A. (Paris, France)
February 2009: Signing the contracts was the initiation for taking over the converting division of Spaulding S.A. This includes all materials and also the machines of the production for cutting the sheets. The main products are DIN A4 and A3-formates packed in boxes. Those materials are used as laser-, copy- and write on-film for whole- and resellers. The machines approve a effective production of the common packaging sizes in a variety of versions. The product- and production segment will be included into the new established Bleher-Spaulding GmbH, which is located in Heimerdingen (Stuttgart).
