Pigment INKS These inks are dispersions whereby pigments are dissolved in water and suspended, similar to water glass, by incorporating very fine sand. This creates the disadvantage that the pigments partially remain on the surfaces of printing substrates and cannot therefore form an attractive gloss. But the advantage is that pigment inks are resistant to water and light.
