Liquid toner
After printing, the inks are reasonably scratch-resistant and very lightfast. For single-colour printing, only one rotation of the impression cylinder is necessary. For four-colour printing, the cylinder must rotate four times before the sheet can be fully printed and laid out.
The transfer of the heated electro lnk to the substrate can also be described as a lamination of the toner layer because there is no absorption of the liquid toner into the paper fibre The colouring substances are immediately dry on contact with the substrate. Additional fixing of the toner is therefore not necessary. The liquid toner process from HP/lndigo requires a special condition of the substrate surfaces.
