optimont® TRM
optimont® TRM – transfer films for optimal results in screen printing
Under the general term optimont® TRM, Folientechnik Bleher offers various transfer films based on BO-PET film. The underlying BO-PET material provides uniform basic properties such as temperature resistance, dimensional stability, and high mechanical and chemical durability. The finishing of the individual film materials ensures that screen printing transfer film customers can purchase a screen printing transfer film that is precisely suited to their products.
Before going into the individual film types, a brief general explanation is given here of what transfer film for textile printing is used for.
Transfer films enable high print quality on textiles
With digital transfer printing, the high quality of the screen printing process can be applied safely and easily to textiles and other materials. For this purpose, the transfer films are first printed in high quality using the screen printing process. With the help of a transfer press, the print motif can then be applied to textiles of all kinds quickly and easily. This heat transfer printing process impresses with the high quality of the transferred motifs.
The printing process using transfer film for screen printing is also called sublimation printing, because the printing inks are anchored in the textile material under high pressure and high temperature. Due to the deep anchoring of the colors in the fabric, the printed motif withstands many wash cycles while maintaining good quality and remains clearly visible on the carrier material. The sublimated colors are hardly noticeable when wearing the garments, providing a pleasant feeling when wearing printed clothing.
Another advantage of optimont® TRM transfer films is the applied translucent coating. It is responsible for the appearance of the print, which results in a matte, elegant print quality.
The optimont® TRM films in the Bleher product range
As a manufacturer of screen printing transfer films, Bleher offers three special heat transfer films for screen printing: optimont® TRM6 IP, optimont® TRM8, and optimont® TRM7. All films have in common that they are manufactured from tear-resistant and heat-resistant BO-PET material, which is an important prerequisite for use in a heat transfer press. All transfer films are coated for printability, formaldehyde- and chrome-free, and equipped with antistatic properties.
With us, you can order screen printing film suitable for water-based plastisol and screen printing inks. Screen printing transfer material is available in a thickness of 120 µm, both as roll material and as cut sheets. As a wholesale supplier of screen printing transfer films, we offer transfer films suitable for indirect textile printing on sportswear, workwear, or children’s clothing, as well as for industrial applications.
- optimont® TRM6 IP With its double-sided printable surface, optimont® TRM6 IP enables smooth and highly efficient production in textile screen printing. The film is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and is coated on both sides with a matte, translucent finish. The transfer film impresses with perfect color transfer of the finest image motifs and can be peeled off as Instant Hot Peel. Silicone- and solvent-based ink systems must be tested before use in heat transfer printing.
- optimont® TRM8 Specifically designed for textile screen printing production, this transfer film features a single-sided printable surface. Both sides, however, are coated matte and translucent and equipped with antistatic properties. The transfer film can be peeled off as Hot and Cold Peel. Silicone- and solvent-based printing inks must also be tested in advance for optimont® TRM8. The film is also suitable for perfect color transfer of the finest elements.
- optimont® TRM7 This transfer film is a further development specifically designed for the growing market of water-based PU screen printing inks. It features very good peel behavior and optimal film adhesion, which simplifies and improves the safe transport of printed transfer motifs. Due to its high transparency, the positioning of the print image can be controlled very well. optimont® TRM7 therefore provides the prerequisites for efficient screen printing production.
The film is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and enables sustainable textile finishing in high quality. optimont® TRM7 is coated matte translucent on one side and equipped for printing, while the reverse side is matted and antistatically treated. The film is designed as an INSTANT PEEL film, meaning it is peelable as Hot & Cold Peel. The use of solvent-based screen printing inks is also possible. In addition, optimont® TRM7 impresses with its very good stackability. This minimizes slipping when cutting finished transfer motifs.
A major advantage of transfer printing is that different textiles can be printed using the same transfer films. At most, adjustments in temperature and pressure during the printing process are necessary in order to use the films in one operation for T-shirts and in the next for sweaters.
In addition, heat transfer presses can be used independently of location: the full logistics of a printing company are not required to print motifs onto textiles. Printing onto the transfer films is carried out in a printing company, and then only the films need to be transported to the location where printing is performed using a heat transfer press. In this way, heat transfer printing saves transport costs and also enables mobile use at merchandising occasions such as trade fairs, markets, festivals, or other events.
Storage of plastisol transfer film
For long-term storage of optimont® TRM films, certain rules must be followed; then storage over many years is no problem. The screen printing transfer material should be stored in a closed storage room or warehouse. Direct sunlight and other light sources should be avoided, as well as moisture and heat. The storage temperature should be kept below 40° Celsius, and the screen printing transfer film should be stored in its original packaging.
