Screen printing

Printing ink is pressed through the openings in a screen by means of a so-called squeegee with a rubber lip. This allows the ink to pass through the open meshes of the screen because the non-printing meshes of the screen remain blocked and no ink can pass through. This happens with a UV-active diazo copying layer that is applied to a washed-out screen, exposed and washed out.

High ink film thicknesses can be achieved that are lightfast.
